LIFE UPDATES (March-May 2024)

Hello all, I am back. Picking back up in June now I guess. Happy June!!

I really slacked during the end of the semester so let’s catch up. Since my last post in March…

I declared my major (sociology!!), had my second college choir concert, was awarded the “Cynthia Cox Memorial Award,” completed my sophomore year at college, ended with A’s (A-‘s but starts with A so), returned home for summer break, to have now returned to school to complete a 12 week internship at the admissions office.

The end of this semester was quite anti-climatic (in my opinion), I finished up my finals, relaxed at home, then moved back in a couple weeks later. I enjoyed the classes I took last semester for the most part (Sociology Theory, Urban Sociology, Urban and Environmental Policy 101, and US Public Policy) and I hope the same will be true for the fall.

My first week at school for this internship program has just concluded. This week was more of an “onboarding” week where we did training (learning new tour routes and information about the places on campus). It seems like a really fun group of students doing this program; there are 5 others, four rising seniors and one rising sophomore. I’ve always enjoyed doing tours and that seems to be a large portion of what I will be doing over the summer so I am not unhappy about that (also getting my steps in!!) but I do not like the heat so I hope that it will not be too warm this summer.

I am very lucky that I have a lot of friends here this summer, most of my friends from last summer have returned again, and more joined!! The first week was fun getting to feel out the dynamics between different people and the meshing of many groups.

I am looking towards this summer hopefully! I think there will be a lot to learn but I hope to also get to explore LA and have time to lounge, read, learn, and hang out.

Those are all of my updates for now, I don’t have much to boast currently but check up in for July!!
